JEDDAH: Al Murjana notched a Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double during the eventful 8th session that had the back-and-forth for No. 1 between Casadores and D’ Barkads swung to the latter in the Thursday League 16th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City here.
Murjana bowled consistently as a team to outscore everyone else on 33 points and with its two players namely Bowler of the Week Mhon Laxamana and Jay Bengco posting the top two scores of the night on 726 and 710 respectively.
While D’ Barkads (19.5 points) wrested back the lead from Casadores (9 points) Murjana likewise made up a lot of ground to climb three places to second in the team standings.
Jem Striker compiled 30.5 points next to Murjana’s leading total, Al Kabeer Frozen Foods tallied 22.5 followed by Salam Rice 22 and Habagat 21.5.
Sponsor team Sarawat Superstores made 17 points while AL Striker brought up the rear on 5 points.
After winning the first game, Murjana never looked back capping its onslaught by taking the overall output for another first-place points of 9.
Team manager Rene Ocampo complemented Laxamana and Bengco on 635 with Faisal Relativo the fourth player to go three games on 567. Nap Patayan and Jojie Manalansan shared three games between them on 226-175 and 213.
Jem also had four players with complete games led by Jeff San Pedro on 685. Richard Junio returned 659, Paolo Allego shot 613 and Cesar Pagtalunan made 601. Mike Tambasin rolled 194-202 and Philip Raymundo 183.
Rally Zamora led an Al Kabeer five-man rotation on 628 followed by Rommel Agbayani 615, Bandr Al Dossary 613, Nanding Siasoco 584 and Jhune Estefano 581.
Salam Rice drew solid numbers from the duo of Bash Langa 640 and Jess Pineda 632. The other scorers were Jayson Castillo 574, Daryl Loquais 189-202, Atoi Cruz 179-228 and Ed Butardo 178-174.
