Al Murjana, beaten by Habagat for the No. 3 outright spot, made it on second chance along with Lifebuoy and Jeddah 5KKB, to set the stage for the stepladder finals in the Thursday League 12th Conference for Globe Cup at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center here.

In the first match of the stepladder, Murjana, Lifebuoy and 5KKB which qualified as the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 teams, knock each other out in two games with handicap with the winner to face off with third qualifier Habagat.

The winner in the second match then advances opposite No. 2 Advance Co. Engineers to determine the challenger to the waiting No. 1 Al Kabeer Frozen Foods in a twice to beat format championship match.

Roll-off is 6:30 p.m., according to league organizer Igna Salgado.

Murjana of Rene Ocampo topped the knockout over three games for the remaining six teams on 3,112 pinfalls.

Jimmy Urbano’s Lifebuouy squad was second to Murjana on 3,048 with 5KKB mentored by Ally Bin and Mike Protacio completing the three qualified teams on 3,021.

Lifebuoy and 5KKB advanced from deep down the standings while Alliance in Motion Global, in third place just before the positioning round on the 18th week, failed to make the cut along with D’ Barkads and Bulacan Knight.

The duo of Jay Bengco and Faisal Relativo paced the Murjana charge on 641 and 608 with Mhon Laxamana on 561 as the other player to complete three games. Ruel Santoc added two valuable games of 234 and 223 while Jojie Manalansan tossed in 196-202 and Melvin Lising had 222-201.

Bash Langa and Alex Flora showed the way at Lifebuoy with rounds of 628 and 616. Tom Langa likewise went the distance on 585 while with two games each were Edwin Ronquillo 195-175, Urbano 222-173 and Reggie Mendoza 205-193.

Over at 5KKB there were four players that turned in three-game series, led by Doods Versoza on 640. Jack Jarin and Bonnie Garcia were on 617 and 616 respectively. Sharing the remaining three team games were Protacio 190-176 and Bin 154.
