JEDDAH: Natco, Hyderabad Green, Jawar Al-Jazirah and MHA entered the semifinals of the Reel & Rom sponsored cricket league organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

In the quarterfinals played last week, Natco cruised past KAIA by 58 runs, Hyderabad Green scored a comfortable 55-run win over Desert Warriors, Jawar Al-Jazirah struggled to get past ICC Irfan Basha by six runs while MHA got the better of Al-Khulais by 26 runs.

In the semifinals Jawar Al Jazirah will clash with Hyderabad Green while MHA lock horns with Natco.

In the first match, Jawar Al Jazirah got off to a flying start and were bowled out for 226. Useful contributions came from the blades of Amir Shehzad (61), Shehzad Ahmed (39), Asim (28) and Rizwan (25). Nabeel 3 for 25, Irfan 3 for 51, Atta 2 for 33 and Kashif 2 for 27 impressed with their bowling.

In reply Rahil (37), Ashfaq (39), Zamir (33) laid a solid foundation but the middle order collapsed. Thanks to some tight bowling by Rizwan (2 for 46) and Shan (2 for 18). Adnan, Shehzad, Asim and Zahid chipped in with a wicket each.

However, a late rearguard action by Nabil with a quick fire unbeaten 30 gave hope for ICC but at the end they were restricted to 220 for 9.

Led by a stylish Adnan’s 64 off 35 balls and Munawar’s patient 41 off 26 balls, Natco managed to put up a decent score of 186 all out against KAIA. Ali (3 for 21) and Meer (2 for 35) impressed for the bowling side.

In reply, Natco bowlers bowled a tight line and length to bundle KAIA for 128 runs. Hasnain was the chief tormentor as he ran through the rival batting lineup and took 5 for 10 including a hat trick. Majid supported him with 3 for 26.

Although Imran (50) gave hopes for a win along with Mamraiz’s (31), the lower order just could not face the bowling of Hasnain and KAIA collapsed for 128.

Elsewhere, Hyderabad Green put up 216 for 3 against Desert Warriors. Amir Gujjar once again stole the limelight as he scored a quick fire 66 off 34 balls. Javed was not far behind him and matched him ball-to-ball with an elegant 55 off 28 balls. With a solid foundation, Usman came in gave the finishing touches with a brisk 56 off 30 balls, which took his team’s total to 216 for 3

Islam, Muzammil and Quddus chipped in with a wicket each.

However in reply, Desert Warriors managed to score 161 for 9. Amirullah and Babar bagged 3 wickets each for 24 and 36 runs respectively. Zaheer, Asif and Abdul Malik shared 3 wickets. Only Wasi (43) and Wasim (25) tried to make a fight of it.

In the other quarters, MHA notched up 181 for 8 against Al-Khulais. Adil (36 not out), Jafar (33), Sher (28), Zia (23) and Ghafoor (20) were the main contributors. Usman impressed with his bowling and bagged 5 for 19 while Shahid picked up 2 for 39.

In reply Al-Khulais gave a spirited fight back but fell short by 26 runs and were restricted to 155 runs.
