DAMMAM: Nawab Tigers eased past Team Honda by seven wickets to win the Premier Division cricket final sponsored by Al-Markb International and organized by the Eastern Province Cricket Association.

SATE Friends XI beat Al-Bawardi by 24 runs to bag the first division title while Eastern Arabia scored a thrilling ten-run win over Binzagr Cricket club to win the Twenty20 final.

In the premier final, Honda won the toss and put up on board 249 runs. Saad Khan (52) and Kashif Riaz (57) were off to a flying start and put on 107 runs for the first wicket. However, wickets fell at regular intervals after that and only Afaq Ahmed (57) put up some resistance.

Asif Aridi did most of the damage and bagged 4 for 48. He was supported by

Mohsinuddin who took 2 for 48. Asad, Jaffar, Sohrab and Salman Butt got a wicket each.

In reply, Nawab Tigers lost their first wicket very cheaply, then Salmah Butt joined Tanveer Hussain, both batted well and took the score to 104 when Tanveer (30) was caught while trying to sweep. Sohrab joined Salman Butt and took the score to 138 runs when Salman was caught off Afaq after he played an excellent inning of 72 runs. Now the unbeaten partnership of captain Sohrab (58 not out) and vice captain Mohsin (49 not out) ensured their team achieved their victory target of 250. Afaq claimed two wickets.

In the first division final, SATE Friends won the toss and scored 299 runs in the allotted 40 overs. Opener Abdul Hannan top-scored scored with 116 runs. Murad Khan (70) and Abdul Wasay (31) were the other run getters. Parvez Khan took 3 wickets and Arshad got 2.

In reply Al-Bawardi managed 275 runs.

Shajiullah (43), Parvez Khan (66), Mahir ullah (42) and Shoaib (39) did their best. Iftekhar bowled well and got 3 wickets. Salmanuddin, Ilyas, Safi Ullah, Yahya and Kareem got a wicket each.

Earlier, Eastern Arabia won the toss and elected to bat, set a target of 173 runs against Binzagr. Eastern Arabia lost their top order batsmen quickly and at one stage they were 30 for 2, when Imran Rasheed (25) and Afwan (37) joined together and took the score to 74. Muzahair Khan later propped up the innings and scored 47 runs.

Rasheed Iqbal bowled well and took 4 for 15. In reply, Binzagr also lost three quick wickets. Later, Farrukh Javeed (46) and Hammad (16) tried to stage a fight back but failed to do so. Youg Anand (3 for 24), Muzahair (2 for 17) and Noushad (3 for 21) bowled well for Eastern Arabia.
