The stage is set for the Bowler of the Year championship on Dec. 13 after the December and last monthly qualifying was held last Friday at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

The men’s and ladies Bowler of the Month for December, Caloy Nuguit and Delia Javing, led the last group of winners that will slug it out against the rest of the qualifiers in the finale where the grand champions will each receive Iphone 5 smartphone courtesy of Abdulrahman Al-Omran, CEO of Tahweel Integrated, according to organizing OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club).

Class C bowler Nuguit mirrored Robert De Guzman’s victory during the November qualifying as he went all the way after topping the four qualifying games to win his division with a two-game total of 407 on scratch games of 209-162.

Class B Jameel Gabrera was first runner-up on 391 (146-221) with Toto Lim and De Guzman second runner-up and third runner-up on 341 (157-160) and 336 (164-148).

After coming fifth in the eliminations, Javing displayed her mettle in the final shooting 404 to win convincingly from Farida De Guzman who returned 360 in the ladies division. Javing tallied scratch games of 118-116 and De Guzman 145-123.

Veteran lady bowler Fuly Primo turned back the clock to get on board as the 2nd runner-up on 338 (130-136). Two-time Bowler of the Month Malou Nidoy finished third runner-up on 326 (97-177).

Orient Provision Trading Co. through Robert Stone donated the 5kg bag of rice to each of the two division winners who along with the rest of the placers also received cash prize from the organizers.
