The much awaited grand opening of the OFBL 4th Conference Friday Morning Division got under way last Friday at Timeout Sports Academy Gymnasium, on Television St., Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Underscoring the growing popularity of OFBL-organized Friday morning leagues the 4th Conference attracted a total of 25 teams that will vie for championships in three divisions namely Non-Rated A Division, Non-Rated B Division and Rated C Division.

The opening ceremony was highlighted by the parade of the 23 out of the 25 team participants. Commissioner Rocky Gil presided the ceremony emceed by Jollibee staff Paloma. Also, the awarding ceremony took place for the last conference winners as well as for the opening-day winners of Best in Uniform and Best Muse for each division. Plaques, medals and gift certificates were handed out to the winners.

3rd Conference Friday Morning Divisions awardees:

Non Rated Division — Champion Nesma,1st runner-up: Dabarkadz (now Fireberkz), 2nd runner-up Yummy Yummy, 3rd runner –up Jeddah Dreamers

Mythical five — Best Guards Ruzzel Mangalindan (Dabarkadz), Oliver Reyes (Dabarkadz); Best Forwards Callueng (Nesma) Manlangit (Nesma) Best Center Tolentino (Nesma) MVP Castillo; Best Coach Louis (Nesma)

Rated C Division — Champion Okaz, 1st runner up Toyota, 2nd runner-up Firewind Rovzky (now Fireberkz); 3rd runner up Solid North; MVP Mark Lagria; Best Coach Raul David

4th Conference Friday Morning opening awardees:

Non-rated A — Best in Uniform OBS Team; Non-rated B Best in Uniform Jamjoom; Rated C Division Best in Uniform Toyota; Best Muse Joan (Fireberkz)

Two games were held right after the awarding and ceremony with Maxim (Jamoom) winning over Roxinin in the Non Rated A Division and Fireberkz (formerly Dabarkadz) edging out newcomer Jollibee.

OFBL (Overseas Filipino Basketball League) is headed by Chairman Boy Teves and Commissioner Gil. The Basketball Officials Group (BOG) of Jun Lansang is in charge of the officiating of the Friday morning league games.
