Android got the better of Haimi Group in an 84-81 victory in the first game for both teams in the second week of action in the Evening Division in the OFBL (Overseas Filipino Basketball League) 6th Conference at the Timeout Sports Academy gymnasium on Television Street, Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Julia showed why he is one of the better guards in the town when he took over for Android in the second half and along with the defense minded Aquino effectively neutralized the Haimi squad that showed toughness in defense to have semblance of a fight in the first two quarters.

Best Player Julia finished the game with 16 points and De Guzman had 12 for Android. Buhano and Ramos scored 12 and 9 points respectively for Haimi in the Inter-Company Non-Rated A.

In the Inter-Commercial division , Infiniti won against Princess Angel 83-70 with Cutamura and Mateo at the helm and Durado providing ample support.

Jomenice was hot at the outset to score 20 points for Princess Angel . Atienza and Banag supported Jomenice in rebounding and scoring but Cutamura found his range from beyond the arc with two booming threes while Mateo shone on defense to give Infinite a huge 82-62 lead to end the third quarter.

In the fourth, Princess Angel bounced back in the early minutes but Best Player Cutamura was fired up eluding defenders for baskets and Mateo making his presence felt in the paint as Infiniti claimed victory.

Cutamura and Mateo ended up with 17 and 16 points, while Fegura shot 12 points.

In the Friday Morning League Division C, Axal ended a two-game losing streak by drubbing K.A.A.U. team 90-73.

In the first quarter, Buhano and Torres showed tremendous game in charge of K. A. A. U. but the veteran Rovic ignited an Axal rally with three consecutive baskets plus a foul with the help of their best player Cartagena whose two consecutive shots in the paint had their team taking a 61-53 lead.

In the third, Axal kept K.A.A.U. at bay and three consecutive completed steals set the team on the way to victory. Agito top-scored for Axal on 24 oints with Rovic on 17 and Coronel on 9 points. Torres and Buhano tallied 22 and 20 points for K. A.A.U.

In Group A Division Toyota continued to impress beating new entrant Jeddah Pards 88-75.

Jeddah Pards led in the first two quarters but then Toyota shot down the Pards’ hopes on an upset thanks mainly to Jollibee Best Player Taguba and Dorado who scored 28 and 16 points respectively.

Fadi Al Tawil backed up the Toyota duo with 10 before fouling out midway through the fourth period. Allido (18 points) and Mangalindan (17 points ) led Pards.

In the Bracket B, Division Saja Pharma hammered out an 80-73 triumph over Jokers to recover from the loss against Yummy Yummy.

Abella top-scored for Saja with 21 points while Caisip, working in tandem with Temson, added 16.

The main scorers at Jokers were Alday 17, Sipat 17 and Leonel 14 points.
