RIYADH: Pak Shaheen, Riyadh Warriors, Nauman Gymkhana and Sialkot Stallions emerged winners from their respective zones in the finals of the American Express Twenty20 Cup cricket tournament, organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association.

In the Al-Khaj Zone, Pak Shaheen defeated arch-rival KFSH Blues by 6 wickets, Riyadh Warriors got the better of FUCHS by 37 runs in the Huraymala Zone, in the Riyadh Zone, Nauman Gymkhana beat Pakistan Falcons by 4 wickets while in Qassim, Sialkot Stallions beat Azad XI with 4 overs to spare.

KFSH Blues failed to take advantage after they won the toss and were bowled out for 170. Notable contributions came from Qaiser Hussain (46), Irshad Mubashir (39) and Nadeem Babar (27). Abdul Wahab was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 for 30. Ibrar Ul Haq grabbed 2 key wickets. Pak Shaheen achieved their target after 15 overs. Ibrar Ul Haq top-scored 55 followed by Abdul Qadir’s unbeaten on 54. Raja Gulraiz took 2 wickets.

Riyadh Warriors batted first and scored 200 for 6. Warriors lost some quick wickets in the start, but Ayaz played a great knock of 68, which stabilized the innings. He was well supported by Toufeeq (46) and Abdulrahim (26). Owais took 2 wickets. In reply FUCHS fell short and were bowled out for 163. Nazim staged a lone battle with a gallant 76.

Ayaz and Premnawaz took 3 wickets each while Toufeeq got 2. Man-of-the-Final: Ayaz. Highest scorer: Adeel Shahzad. Leading wicket taker: Hafiz Asghar. Leading All-rounder: Bilal.

In Riyadh, Pakistan Falcons made first use of the track and put up 192 for 9. Mudassir bowled excellently and took 3 wickets well supported by Imran who got 2 wickets. Nauman Gymkhana achieved the target in 19 overs. Mudassir played a match winning innings of 88. Shahzad later propped up the innings with a well-made 43. Man-of-the-Final: Mudassir. Highest scorer: Izhar Bukhari. Leading wicket taker: Aneesh Ashok. Leading All-rounder: Yasir Ahmed.

In Qassim, Sialkot Stallions beat Azad XI. Batting first Azad XI was bundled out for 126. Manzoor 38, Juma Khan 28 and Kashif Butt 21 were top scorers. Sialkot Stallions chased the target in 16 overs. Ahmad Raza added 66 and Mubashir 40. Man-of-the-Final: Ahmad Raza.

A glittering prize distribution ceremony was held for the American Express T20 Cup, FUCHS Cup Season 2012-13 and Al Momen School 10-over Tournament season 2012-13 were presented.

Chief Guest of this ceremony was Miland Pandherkal, CFO American Express Saudi Arabia. Guests of Honors included Mr. Tariq Javed, President RCA/Chairman EC SCC, Mohammed Anwar, Chairman/Patron RCA and Yusef Noor Anwar from Al Momen International School. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Anwar thanked the sponsors and the participating teams. He also thanked Patron in Chief RCA Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser for his support to promote Cricket in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Tariq Javed lauded the efforts of RCA Executive Committee members for organizing such a wonderful event.
