JEDDAH: Peeran XI and Old Students scored comfortable wins over Jamco and Ktaykit in the After League organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

Peeran XI batted first and scored 160 for 8 in their allotted overs. Openers Tariq (28) and Mustafa (61) were off to a flying start as they put on 65 runs off the first six overs. Later, Wajid (37) propped up the innings using the long handle. Karam was the wrecker in chief for the bowling side as he ran through the rival batting line-up and claimed 6 for 29 including a hat trick. Arsalan and Sufian had a wicket a piece for 33 and 42 runs respectively.

In reply Jamco were bundled out for 68 runs. Karam top-scored with 37 runs, which gave some respectability to the scoreline. None of the other batsmen reached double figures. Waleed 2 for 12, Mustafa 2 for 1 run and Shariq 2 for 25 were instrumental in their team’s 92-run win.

In another match, Old Students posted 197 for 2 and later dismissed Ktaykit for 108 runs to win by 89 runs. Old Students were provided a good start of 102 runs by Umar (48) and Sajjad (54 not out). Imran Butt chipped in with 53 runs. Imran of Ktaykit took 1 for 29.

Ktaykit batsmen failed to make a fight of it and let Old Students bowlers dominate. Saleem (43) was the highest scorer as they were bundled out. Abdul impressed with his 4 for 6. Ishaque 3 for 17 and Imran with 2 for 19 supported him..

In the semifinals ICAD will take on Old Students whereas Munch Bakery takes on Peeran XI.
