JEDDAH: Play Time followed its opening-day double with a 25-14, 23-25, 15-8 victory over Saudi German Hospital Friday in the second week of action in the Makati Express Cargo-Sarawat Superstores 1st Kalayaan Volleyball Cup 2016 at the Trio Ranch & Country Club in Briman District here.

The victory gave Play Time a perfect 3-0 record in the men’s division in the tournament organized by Dreamstar Productions for Sports under the leadership of Al Moran Bacleon and supported by major sponsors Makati Express Cargo and Sarawat Superstores and co-sponsors OSN Pinoy, Frendi, Fawri Remittance Services, Bubble Nation, and Manila’s Mang Inasal Restaurant, with support from Kabalikat Civicom through Chairman Alvin Salenga and Sammy Silvestre’s Kulay Philippine Photographers Community.

Play Time opened its campaign in the five weeks event marking the return of big-time volleyball in Jeddah by beating in succession SGH and Jeddah Blue Spikers.

Keeping pace with Play Time in the women’s division at 2-0 was NGHA-KAMC which hammered out a straight sets 25-14, 25-12 triumph over SGH in the third game Friday.

In the first game, Dr. Suleiman Fakeeh Hospital, captained by Carla Maria Hanolo, rebounded from its defeat by NGHA-KAMC when it scored a straight away 25-15, 25-14 victory over Dr. Erfan Bagedo Hospital, apparently inspired by the morale-boosting presence of Chief Nursing Officer Hani Ayyad and Nursing Service Director Sandra Bonayon.

The result left DSFH and DEBH tied on 1-1.

In the other men’s division contest Friday, Jeddah Blue Spikers scored their first win in two games against SGH. The scoreline was 27-25, 25-19.

The week’s Best Player of the game winners who each received a PBA jersey courtesy of OSN were: Carla Campos (Dr. Sulaiman Fakeeh Hospital), John Mark Oquino (Jeddah Blue Spikers), Sharon Estores (KAMC) and Jamil Robert Antiporda (Play Time) . The five Sarawat raffle winners were Jinson Joseph (SGH) , Jami Antiporda (Play Time), Gema Baris (KAMC) , Benedict Sereguire (Alshaya Company) and Sammy Silvestre (Kulay Photography).
