The second round of King of The Strip championship for drag racing was concluded Friday evening at Dirab Motor Park in Riyadh. More than 44 racers competed in three different categories in a bid to win the title in the strongest drag racing event this season.

This round witnessed large participation from western, eastern and central region racers. The engines roared loudly while achieving amazing records in the quarter mile race with average elapse time between 10 to 13 seconds. These records showcase the great development of cars tuning and programming that Saudi Arabia is witnessing.

The final runs enthused the spectators who raised the banners of different teams and clubs participating in the championship.

Sakher Alsudairy , general manager of Dirab Park, expressed his delight at the level reached by the Saudi youth in drag racing , and said: “The real achievement that we are witnessing today is the intellectual and tactical development of Saudi racers in this sport within a short period of time, not to mention that all racing cars projects from engine programming to tuning were all done in Saudi workshops and garages with Saudi manpower and this is the cornerstone in transforming the sport into an integrated industry where Saudi media is a main part of it and this is what we are witnessing today.”

Let’s Go Group for modified cars organized an amazing car show festival on the sidelines of the championship. LX and Saudi Mustang Clubs both have gathered more than 100 car inside the park and declared their intention to schedule a challenge between the two clubs in several sports competitions ranging from drag racing, go-karting, autocross and others at Dirab Park.

Alsudairy handed out trophies to the top three winners in each category and the results were as follows:

Open category — First place Prince Saud bin Turki Al Saud, second place Majid Alshwaish, third place Abdel-Rahman Alnaser

Super Stock class — First place Faisal Al-Amoudi, second place Ryan Soundouq,

third place Hassan Oraini

Stock category — First place Zaid Mohammed Abdullah, second place Abdul Aziz Alfdaili (LX Racing team), Third Place Khaled Al -Harbi
