YANBUA: Mangalore Challengers scored a thrilling two-wicket win over Natpet in the Jotun Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the Yanbu Al Sinaiyah Cricket Association.

Natpet opted to bat first and put on board 96 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. Saadat (19), Yasir (12), Jaleel (25) and Mohammed Ali (15) were the main run getters. Mohammed 2 for 10 and Jamaluddin 2 for 13 were the wicket takers. Mangalore Challengers in response got to the winning target of 97 for 8 in 110 balls to win by 8 wickets. Shiyam stroked 17, Shabbir 8, Shihab 27 and Riyaz 8. Jaleel took 2 for 22, S. Shahdi 3 for 14 and a wicket each to Ali, M. Shahid and Imran.

In the other match Punjab XI won by 53 runs against Royal Commission ‘A’. Punjab XI opted to bat first piled up 143 for 7 in allotted 20 overs through Kharral 41, Azam 41, Rizwan 12 and Asghar 17. A. Khan, Imran Ali, SA and Imran Sr took a wicket each. Royal Commission in reply were bowled out for 90.

Akram was the highest scorer with 38 runs. Rizwan bowled well and bagged 4 for 16. Waqas 2 for 18, Asghar 2 for 11 were the other bowlers who impressed.
