JEDDADH: Just as the Jaguars Badminton Open Tournament inaugurated with a bang, the championship games and awarding ceremonies of the tournament culminated to deafening bursts of decorative balloons and roaring cheers of participants and spectators who watched the final day of the event at the Olympia Sports Center.

Multi-titled and top-seeded Vinu Raj and Arun Paul of Avocado Badminton Club again teamed up to quash the feisty challenge put up by Mitchi Cruz (MBA) and Jun Cabradilla (Smaikers New Gen) to bag the championship crown in the Men’s Doubles Flight Champ Division.

In the ladies Division (Flight 3): Sarah Villar/Khyle Acosta of Fleeq (Champion) and Shirley dela Rosa/Carmi Hadjiri of KBC (2nd Place); Flight 4: Emma dela Vega/Danielle Ann Eugenio of FBB (Champion) and Jocelyn Cabradilla/Angela Louise Atis of Smaikers New Gen/MBA (2nd Place); Flight 5: Jasmin Ching/Shiela Cortez of KBC (Champion) and Lala Ducusin/Fhe Ramos of Smash Arabia (2nd Place); and Flight 6: Farhana Matanog/Carla Ocena of KBC (Champion) and Ruvi Azumbrado/Linda Galila of Jaunty (2nd Place).

Mixed division (Flight 2): Mohamed Darwish/Khyle Acosta of Independent/Fleeq (Champion) and Nasser Lagindab/Sarah Villar of Fleeq/MBC (2nd Place); Flight 3: Dajo Cabradilla/Jocelyn Cabradilla of MBA/Smaikers New Gen (Champion) and Mark Villanueva/Mitch Jereza of Smash Arabia (2nd Place); Flight 4: Dennis Marbeda/Angela Louse Atis of MBA/Jeddah Badminton (Champion) and Benjie Tambio/Ma.Christina Aguda of Slashers (2nd place); Flight 5: Dennis Mendoza/Jasmin Ching of KBC/KINC (Champion) and Musa Butt/Geraldine Pecson of Smash Arabia (2nd Place); and Flight 6: Rex Puno/Farhana Matanog of PHOG/KBC (Champion) and Derek Gangano/Sarah Gangano of FBB (2nd Place).

All winners received trophies, cash prizes and Sarawat Superstores grocery vouchers.

Lucky raffle winners received giveaway items from tournament sponsors such as grocery vouchers from Sarawat Superstores, wall clocks and auto emergency flashlights from Mobil, wall clocks, miniature trucks, coffee mugs, pen holders, pens and key chains from Alesayi Motors, cargo vouchers from Skyfreight and meal vouchers from McDonalds.

In his final tournament address, Jaguars Club Chairman and Tournament Director Gerry Rabang especially thanked all the sponsors, namely, Sarawat Superstores, Alesayi Motors, Bupa Arabia, Solafah Alsharq Trading Company, Ltd, McDonalds, APSCO (Exxon Mobil), Skyfreight and New Cabalen Restaurant. Official tournament marshals, GANAP Guardians, and official tournament photographers, Pinoy Tambayan, were likewise accorded due recognition.
