RIYADH: The new RCL (Riyadh Cricket League) season 2016-2017 kicked off with the Youm Al Watani T20 Cup cricket tournament.

This T20 Cup is held a at RCL Complex with 40 teams in the fold. Ground facilities were improved by rolling and adding two new pavilions .

The hectic first week saw easy wins for PAK CC, Royal Fighters, Konkan Green, SACO CC, Telangana Warriors CC, South Indian Strikers, Eleven star CC, Diamond 1 & Diamond 2. The highlights of the first week were centuries from Tallal 116 (Pak CC), Manoj J 105 (Konkan Green). The other notable performances came from Arafat Baig 84 (South IndianaSt), Ateeq 51 (Diamond 2), Kamar Nawaz 50 (Eleven Star) and Abdul Salam 45 (Warriors CC). Also, there were all rounded performances by Madani K (Royal Fighters) 23 runs & 4 wkts, Taiyab Afzal ( Diamond -1) 52 runs and & 1 wicket and Uday (Saco CC) 48 runs & 2 wickets.

Riyadh Pirates vs. Pak CC: PAK CC made use of the wicket first and set a competitive target of 231 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Tallal played a fast phased innings of 116 runs and well supported by Waseem Khan 33 runs that held the innings together.

In reply Riyadh Pirates only managed 124 runs losing wickets consistently. Fahad scored 40 runs. Usman & Asad both grabbed 2 Wkts each.

Man of the Match: Tallal for 116 runs.

Royal Fighters vs. Gujranwala CC: Royal Fighters edged passed Gujranwala CC in a high scoring match.

Royal Fighters batted first and scored a huge total of 191 runs in 20 overs with the help of a brilliant innings from Madani K- 28, Madani S- 43, Tauseef 56 who hit the ball all across the ground for a blistering total of 191 runs.

In reply Gujranwala CC reached the score of 171 in 20 overs short of 20 runs, noticeable performances are by Kamran 84. Brilliant bowling performance by Madani k 4 Wkts & Tawaf 3 Wkts.

Man of the Match: Madani K 28 runs and 4 wickets.

United X1 vs. SACO CC: SACO CC 174 scored a nerve-wrecking win over United XI.

Batting first United X1 set a modest total of 171 runs thanks to a tight bowling attack of SACO CC who did not allow them to score freely. Only Shuja could score 78 a half century and held the innings together. Akram 3 Wkts and Uday 2 Wkts bowled well respectively.

In reply SACO CC chased down the target in 18 overs with the loss of just 3 Wkts, the batting performances are Uday 48 runs, Shoeb 38 runs & Azmath 29 runs. Shuja from United took 2 Wkts.

Man of the Match: Uday for 48 runs and 2 wickets

Mazaya Warriors vs. Konkan Green: In the Premier -1 match Konkan Green out casted Mazaya by chasing the target of 191 in just 17.4 overs.

Batting first Mazaya scored 191 runs in 20 overs, with the help of half centuries from Asgar 84 runs & fayaz 54 runs, Faheem 3 Wkts and Manoj 2 Wkts both held the bowling tight with other bowlers.

In reply Konkan Green lost early wickets but the match winning century by Manoj 103 saw them home, Manoj was brilliantly supported by Faik Ali 43 runs & Mansoor 22. Salaam took 2 Wkts from Mazaya.

Shaheen X1 vs. Telangana Warriors: In the first super Division encounter T. Warriors outcast the Shaheen X1 by 4 Wkts chasing down the target of 158 runs in 18 overs.

Batting first Shaheen X1 scored 158 runs in their allotted 20 overs, The major contribution from the Shaheen X1 by Nail 54 runs & Sikandar 40 runs. Warriors Taher & Anwar 2 Wkts each bowled tight line and length to restrict Shaheen for 158.

While chasing Warriors lost early wickets and their middle order showed resistance against the tough Shaheen bowling attacked and chased down the target in 18 overs.

Abdul Salam scored 45 runs and Ehsan scored 38. Rasheed 3 Wkts and Naveed took 2 Wkts from Shaheen side.
