RJ Transient Houses punctuated their run to the finals at No. 2 next to top qualifier Red Dragons with a Team of the Week award at the end of eliminations during the 14th session in the OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League 2nd Season at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

RJ and Red Dragons actually tied on 22 total win points but the former clinched team honors via the match points tiebreaker with an automatic 20 against the bye team to the 16 by the Dragons in the 16-4 victory against the Replacement.

The Dragons were a runaway No. 1 but the second outright finalist was decided right down the last day of eliminations, with RJ overhauling a slim .5 point deficit to the Youngsters Revival to make it. They will be joined in the stepladder final by the three highest teams after the knockout three-game with handicap series for the teams ranked 3 to 7 in the team standings.

Still, RJ had to overcome a little complacency as the Youngsters gave a go of it before settling for 20 total win points on 12-8 victory over Versatile Guys, total pinfalls of 1,756-1,738 and rank points of 8-7.

The matchup produced the Bowlers of the Week in Youngsters’ Carms Lim on the distaff side and Versatile’s Tirso Bambalan on the men’s division at 580 and 623 respectively.

In the other match, Makatifoods brought down Pairs and Spares 16-4 on total pinfalls of 1,631-1,644, rank points of 5-3 and total win points of 21-7.

Malou Nidoy led RJ with a solid round of 569 with team captain Rudy Jamon on 480. League commisioner Joel Nidoy added 204-162 and Jack Jarin had 161.

Cesar Pagtalunan and Tom Langa had matching cards of 572 at the helm of the Dragons who also received 146-175 from Bash Langa and 160 from Arman Gamboa.

Archie Alcantara scored the second highest score of 600 in leading the Makatifoods charge with Lexter Atienza on 492, Bob Stone on 179-160 and Gino Vallejos on 181.

Besides Carms, the winningest player with 7 Bowler of the Week accolades under her belt, the other scorers at Youngsters were Vic Gonzales 596, skipper Toto Lim 190-183 and Rudy Valenzuela 143.
