JEDDAH: Reel & Rom lifted the Division-I Morning League Cup in style when they routed Eirad Travels by 7 wickets. Middle order batsman Amjad Siddiqui was instrumental in their victory with an unbeaten 105 runs in the Reel & Rom-sponsored tourney organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.

Eirad Travels won the toss and managed a respectable total of 238 for 8 wickets in the allotted 25 overs.

Inform batsman Zia-ul-Haq (26) and skipper Shad Muhammad Khan (21) were not in their element. However, Abdul Rahman (57) and Khalid (33) propped up the innings. Others who contributed were Sher Khan (31), Usman (19) and Waliullah (15). Rasheed 4 for 36 and Afridi 2 for 27 were the main wicket takers. The match was reduced to 22 overs due to a sandstorm during the match and Reel & Rom were given revised target of 210 runs, which they achieved for the loss of 3 wickets off 18 overs.

Waheed (12), Imran (28), Afridi (15) fell cheaply but kept up the run rate of above 10 per over. Amjad Siddiqui took over after that while his partner Irfan Butt supported him with a well made unbeaten 42.

In a fight for the third position, Ittehad got the better of Butt Sports by 5 wickets.

Butt Sports batted first and put up 188 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Abdul Rahman (65), Izhar (57), and Umar (25) were the main run getters.

Sami had 2 for 32.

In reply the Ittehad reached the winning target for the loss of 5 wickets after 17.2 overs. Rizwan top-scored and missed his ton by one run. Fahd supported him with 46 runs. Umar bagged 2 for 26.

Habeeb Khan of ex-Shalimar Cricket Club was the guest of honor. JCA President Mohammad Iqbal and Vice President Aijaz Ahmed Khan thanked SCC for promoting the game in Saudi Arabia.
