JEDDAH:  Royal Strikers snapped Pin Slasher’s winning streak behind an all-out retaliation in the last game, Shawly Bowlers rediscovered their Team of the Week award-winning form on opening day to blank Fire Fox while Ekis-3 seized the lead when it routed X-Alley during the 9th session in the Friday Morning Bowling League 12th Conference at the Bowling City here.

Pin Slasher actually swept the first two sets at 1223-1167 and 1208-1148 featuring Jay Bengco’s 235 and 227.

Team head Roger Daquioag, Dariel Loquias, Carling Constantino, May Lourdes and Aileen Miralbuna combined in a total of 1969.

Team captain Jun Estefano (239, 212), Jun Pingan (205, 243) and Alona Antinero (221, 190) kept the Lions’ hope with a wide margin of 2431- 2315 into the third game.

With Estefano leading with 250 and teammates Joey Calapatia, Ed Sardiña, Albert Abug, Antinero and Pingan backing him up Royal Strikers won the match 12-8 (3544-3500) including survival endgame of 1229-1069 with only Bengco sustaining production for Bulls at 243.

Bengco provided some consolation for the Bulls when he won Bowler of the Week honors at 705 foiling Estefano 701.

Antinero and Ester Santoc shared Lady Bowler of the Week honors on 623. Antinero played games of 221, 190 and 24 while Ester compiled 215, 195 and 213.

After a promising opening day everything was downhill for Shawly Bowlers until they once again reigned supreme in their one-sided duel against Fire Fox that made them Team of the Week on superlative aggregate of 3661. Fire Fox could only muster 3452.

Acting team captain Nestor Sañosa ably filled the shoes of vacationing Arnel Bautista totaling 686 which Archie Alcantara challenged at 617 from the losing side.

Joel Quiboy and Max Salang surpassed expectations with 627, 604 for Shawly. Sañosa had games of 229, 262 and 195 to inspire Andy David, Mariz Resano and wife Sally who rolled 566, 583 and 595 respectively.

Fire Fox’s Rey Feliciano, Vic Bantay, Robert Gamboa, Rod Morales and Fuly Primo had their efforts of 577, 576, 566, 566 and 550 in vain.

Ekis-3 narrowly beat Pin Slasher for the lead at 199-198 thanks to its victory over X-Alley and Slasher’s setback to Lion.

Zaldy Bacero again proved his worth when he totaled 646. Sol Cuenca and Tommy de Castro contributed 618 and 573 and along with Faisal Relativo, Lourdes Punzalan and team head Ernie Geslani helped Ekis-3 to an 18-2 (3432-3349) win over X-Alley which had Andy Yumena the leading scorer at 579.

In other matches, Fed Extreme walloped D’ Mountaineers (18-2), Petroin edged Micah’s Pride (11-9), Lance & 3rdy beat Pin Rockers (12-8) and bye team in action BCT Mongoose took 20 points.
