JEDDAH: RTJ Transient House notched up a perfect grand slam, winning the Team of the Week and the individual Bowler of the Week awards for both divisions at the start of the OFBC Friday Afternoon League Season 6 at the Iceland Bowling Center.
RTJ zeroed Shadow Bowlers 20-0 in their match and then returned the highest total pinfalls of 2, 248 for an additional 8 points that gave the winner the first perfect 28 total win points of the tournament.
Malou Nidoy and Hadi Pacheco made RJ’s perfect start all the more memorable when they respectively put away the ladies and men’s Bowler of the Week awards on 578 and 588.
Arci-5 was a distant second on the day with 24 points, beating The Youngsters 18-2 on total pinfalls of 1, 981 and 1, 851 worth six and one rank points for Arci-5 and Youngsters.
Toshi and Al Tayyer United Contracting Co. rounded out the winners in this five-man league event of the revived Overseas Filipino Bowling Club. Toshi and Al Tayyer ended the day on 23 and 21 points.
Toshi brought down Velocity Strikers 16-4 (2, 039-1, 9400) while Al Tayyer won by the same 16-4 scoreline over Saudi German Hospital on total pinfalls of 1, 958-1, 858.
Benj Espinosa and Ed Cordova shot 553 and 529 to complement the oustanding displays by Malou and Pacheco at RTJ Transient House captained by Rudy Jamon.
Eli Arciaga’s Arci-5 drew solid 545 and 519 from Delia Javing and Marlyn Mangunay with Sergio Modar on 486 and Peter Malabanan on 431. Gizelle Virtudazo led the Youngsters’ losing cause on 501.
For Toshi, the pair of Rico Bulalayao and Cesar Sacramed compiled the leading scores of 576 and 540 while Vivian Sacramed had 496 and Ryan Liwagon 427.
Bonnie Maelom had 571 and Jeff Magallanes tallied 526 at the helm of the Strikers.
