JEDDAH: Sagmit Dental Clinic had to wait another week before earning distinction as the first to repeat as Team of the Week during the eighth session in the FTBJ-ICBL 37th Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.
As no team had dominated deep into the eliminations SDC getting its second award after a missed opportunity the previous sesion is big deal.
And on a day when none put up a challenge Sagmit shot the best total of 3,719 pinfalls.
League leader Pin Slashers bowled good enough to keep the No. 1 spot but their total of 3, 656 pinfalls still paled in comparison to Sagmit’s tally.
The fight for third-best on the day mirrored last week’s race for team honors as JP Singco, the SDC’s tormentor, this time pipped Sadafco by a pin 3, 589 to 3, 588 pinfalls.
Sky Freight-Virgin Mobile came through with 3, 548 pinfalls at fifth place followed by defending champion Ekis Reload 3, 513, the surprising Buddy Buddies 3, 469 and Virgin Mobile 3, 414.
Joey Calapatia was chief in the Sagmit’s dominant display, shooting the high series of 692 on lines of 198, 224 and 222 that gave him the men’s Bowler of the Week award for an SDC double.
Singco’s Jeanette Cerbito was the individual Bowler of the Week award winner on the distaff side on 642 on scratch games of 233, 174 and 181.
Evelyn Santoc, Jun Estefano and Ric Reformado gave Calapatia plenty support at Sagmit with robust rounds of 635, 625 and 619 in that order, while Ester Santoc added 581 and Ruel Santoc 567.
The Slashers like Sagmit had four players breaching 600 led by Roger Daquiaog who rolled 662. Rommel Agbayani toppled 615 pinfalls while Rom Cagampang and May Lourdes had 606 and 604 to go with the 591 by Matet Cavite and 578 by Daryl Loquias.
Randy Mata shot 659 and Paolo Allego had 622 as they complemented Cerbito at Singco which also netted 589 from Rene Punzalan, 544 from Nezar Al Hamwi and 533 from Lou Punzalan.
Sadafco likewise paraded four players to cross 600 in Yasser Hokbi 644, Richard Antonio 629, Charrie Guzman 625 and Danny Bautista 606. Pancho Cuevas 535, Grace Funtillon 397 and Che Bautista 152 completed the Sadafco scoring.
Oca Bernabe led the Sky Freight on 676 with the ladies duo of Imelda Sayago and Babes Tiongson contributing 595 and 594.
