DHAHRAN: For the second straight week, Dirab Ladies Group was in competition mode traveling to Dhahran for a friendly tournament with its counterpart at Rolling Hills Golf Club inside the massive Saudi Aramco premises in Dhahran.

Tuesday last week, Dirab Ladies team captain Roberta Hobbs and her ladies followed their Pink Ladies Golf Tournament at their home course with an away event hosted by the Riyadh Rolling Hills Club Ladies League.

Winning first place in the Stableford format competition was Sally Lim from the host club on 34 points equivalent to 2-over in medal play. Monika Schiffer beat Dirab teammate Martina O’Reilly for second place on countback after both players tied on 33 points. Joyce Shepp and Angie Bryson, who are both from RHGC, rounded out the first five winners on 31 and 29 points at fourth and fifth positions respectively.

The skills contest was a sweep for the visitors, Rosalyne Delpon de Vaux winning the longest putt, Fiona Elsdon the longest drive and Hobbs the nearest to the drive of RHGC Ladies President Melissa Ross.

The event was superbly organized by Tournament Director Joyce Shepp, with assistance from her committee. A sumptuous gala dinner and awards luncheon were respectively hosted by Ross and Liz Wilder.
