JEDDAH: After a week’s break, the Thursday League 16th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup resumes with the 13th session where Al Kabeer Frozen Foods will again try to gain ground on rampant leader Al Murjana at the Bowling City here.
Before the break Al Kabeer kept pace of Murjana which won its fifth Team of the Week award on 35 points with Al Kabeer second on 30 points.
AL Striker and sponsor team Sarawat Superstores tied on 23 points followed by D’ Barkads 20 and Casadores 17.
Jem Striker had 14 points on the night while Habagat and Salam Rice brought up the rear on 10 and 8 points.
Tash Haitam of Sarawat won the individual Bowler of the Week race after shooting the high series of 684 on lines of 226, 230 and 186.
On a high-scoring night a good number of players followed Haitam’s lead, among them, Mohd. Sulaiman of AL Striker and his teammate Bonnie Garcia on 671 and 662 respectively and Al Kabeer’s Bandar Al Dossary on 664.
As a team, Murjana had four players cracking the 600-series barrier as Jay Bengco shot 663, Nap Patayan 653, Richard Antonio 635 and Mhon Laxamana 633. Faisal Relativo added 182-230 and Jojie Manalansan 220.
Not to be outdone, Al Kabeer also paraded four players hitting past 600 namely Dossary with that 664, Rommel Agbayani 652, Jowett Carrion 632 and Nanding Siasoco 605. Archie Santos missed out on 600 with his 584 for Al Kabeer.
Benjie Cils was the third player for AL to enjoy 600-seris on 625 while Ally Bin had 655 and Jack Jarin 549.
In addition to Haitam the other scorers at Sarawat were Mohd Al Amri 629, Jay-R de Dios 559, skipper Igna Salgado 197-198, Paul Antiporda 176-190 and Sorin Giurca 136-169.
Over at D’ Barkads Rudy Valenzuela returned 610 to go with the 579 by Romy Bunagan, 544 by James Galvan, 199-209 by Joel Nidoy, 195-191 by Ed Sardiña and 198-176 by Bing Amolo.
