JEDDAH: Two weeks before the positioning round Saudi Master Baker continued to sit pretty at the top of the team standings thanks to another Team of the Week award during the 17th session in the Thursday Bowling League 14th Season at Bowling City in Sultanah Center.

Enjoying a good scoring night, Saudi Master Baker separated itself from the rest of the pack to total 34 points, just two shy of the perfect 36.

BCT-For Yoooo was a distant second on 27 points with defending champion Habagat one point back on 26 and Jem Strikers a point farther back on 25.

Al Murjana, the form team last season only to be stopped cold in its tracks by Habagat in the stepladder phase, returned 20 points in fifth place followed by D’Barkads 16, Spike-GBI 14 and Carling Sport Wear 14.

Paolo Allego of Jem Strikers claimed the individual Bowler of the Week honors after shooting the high series of 708 on lines of 266, 213 and 226.

The 12th Season champion then under the banner of Alkabeer Frozen Foods, Saudi Master could have made it a perfect night were it not for a second game dip when Igna Salgado’s team could only get to third for 7 points behind BCT and Habagat.

Still, not another team was better than the league leaders with the trio of Mohd Al Amri, Salgado and Gerry Mandanas shooting 688, 649 and 580. With two games each were Alfa Mugawan 227-214, Rey Feliciano 189-199 and Jowett Carrion 185-168.

BCT had Yasser Hokbi and Rommel Agbayani coming up with the big numbers on 657 and 606. Rally Zamora on 581 was the other player to complete three-game series on 581, while Jimmy Urbano tallied 170-205, Paul Antiporda 207-167 and Alex Flora 214-194.

Ver Jasa was a few pins short of 600 on 593 while leading the Habagat that also netted 578 and 565 from Manny Tibay and Med Ramos, a pair of 200s from Rommel Cagampang, 234-233 from Geo Mangaliman and 234-168 from Ryan Conde.

Over at Jem the others who delivered in addition to Allego were Jeff San Pedro 620, Efren San Pedro 580, Rolly Vistal 159-180, Ryan Loveria 169-177 and Mike Tambasin 142-216.

For Murjana, it was Ruel Santoc that took charge on 607, with help from Pancho Cuevas 578, Fran Afurong 567, Jay Bengco 191-245, Rene Ocampo 164-169 and Mhon Laxamana 201-200.
