In an unprecedented accomplishment, the Saudi powerboat Formula 1 team clinched third place in the finals of the Nations Cup 2013 recently off Abu Dhabi coast.

The Saudi team comprised Naeem Alkedawi , Saud Ahmed Abdul Aziz and the team manager Hani Abul Jadayel, who attended the races along with the representative of the Saudi Marine Federation, Adil Rasheed. They were all very happy at this achievement in an international championship in marine sports.

The winners received their awards from Ahmad Al Rumaithi, board member of Abu Dhabi International Club for Marine Sports and Nicolo San Germano, the promoter of the tournament.

Abul Jadayel said that he and his team members felt proud to have represented the Kingdom in this field of sport at the international level. He said the team also took part in a previous round of the same championship in Doha where they finished second place and only five points behind first place Russia.

Eight countries participated in this championship namely Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Italy, Russia, Norway, Venezuela and Lebanon.

The Nations Cup is considered one of the toughest in powerboat F1 racing.

Abul Jadayel said the two Saudi champions, Naeem and Saud Ahmed, have a bright future in the sport and will bring more laurels for the country.
