JEDDAH: Seiko Watch enjoyed a singularly strong performance and claimed just reward by clinching Team of the Week honors during the 8th session in the FTBJ 53rd Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City.
Toppling pins in clockwork precision, Seiko ended the night just two points shy of the perfect score on 34 points, with D’Barkads a distant second on 27 points.
Sagmit Dental Clinic was four points further back on 23 while 40/20 Bowlers and Cash Pinas-SFF tied on 20 points.
Taurus tallied 18 points in sixth place on the night followed by previous week honoree BCT-Al Kabeer and Bank AlJazira Fawri, which had matching cards of 14 points.
Ramiz Ayoub brought up the rear on 10 points.
Carl Constantino made it a Seiko Watch double by bagging the Bowler of the Week award with the high series of 685 on scratch games of 180, 279 and 181.
Equally sharp were Constantino’s teammates Jayson Castillo and Pancho Cuevas who rolled 678 and 673 respectively. Oca Bernabe was the fourth player to do full games on 609. Jess Pineda on 231-189 and Daryl Loquias on 205 shared Seiko’s remaining three games.
D’Barkads had Leo Edejer and Gerry Tano at the helm of a six-man rotation on 679 and 638. Med Ramos carded 553 as the third player to go the distance, while Rudy Valenzuela added 200-182, Rommel Cagampang had 246-192 and Zaldy Bacero made 245-244.
The duo of June Estefano and Joey Calapatia led Sagmit with rounds of 651 and 629 to go with the 574 by Rene Ocampo, 174-189 by Kemo Felemban, 161-183 by Ding dela Rosa and 216-181 by Marlon Bernabe.
40/20 Bowlers used a single set of five players with Tommy Kamal at the helm on 641 followed by Ruben Grino 603 and Mhon Laxamana 581. Danny Bautista 579 and Cesar Monares 570 were the other scorers.
For Cash Pinas, the trio of Nonie Yap, Wilson Triguero and Goying Salazar led the charge on 653, 629 and 615 in that order, while Rene Punzalan tossed in 550, Mao Orolfo 200-166 and Faisal Relativo 180.
