For the first time in five weeks a team not named Taurus was in the limelight, as Selections claimed their breakthrough Team of the Week award in style during the fifth session in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 4 recently at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Coming off a loss from the previous week, Selections scored perfect 28 points in a 20-0 shutout of Cyclone on total pinfalls of 2,536-2,424 and rank points of 8-4.

Led by Selections all four winners of the week won by 20-0 whitewash — Zikato Strikers against Krau Thai Restaurant on total pinfalls of 2,515-2,348 and rank points of 7-3, D’ Luf’s Strikers against Guardians Thunder 2,482-2,245 6-2 and Taurus against Troopers 2,426-2,227 5-1. Zikato, Luf’s and Taurus closely followed Selections’s total (win and rank points) on 27, 26 and 25 in that order.

Also, honors were evenly distributed on the day after Eli Arciaga of Troopers and Farida De Guzman of Luf’s Strikers emerged the Bowlers of the Week on 579 and 548 respectively in the young tournament where Zikato Construction through Operations Manager Albert Zuniga is the major sponsor.

The trio of Thea Busico, Jude Vivero and Louie Pasia carded 541, 533 and 517 to be at the helm of the inspired Selections charge that also netted 128-189 from Jhun Ejanda, 126-144 from Rico Parcon, 118 from Rudy Ramos and 132 form Lexter Atienza.

Over at Zikato, Benj Espinosa was the top scorer on 530 followed by Arman Gamboa 514, and Jerry Carredo 488. Sharing two games each were team captain Toto Lim 133-187, Carms Lim 114-143 and Delia Javing 149-142.

Carmen Duma complemented De Guzman’s effort at Luf’s on 537 with Tirso Bambalan on 479 and Alexander Duma on 445. Rommel Marasigan added 158-147 and Cesar Pagtalunan had 144.

Taurus drew 513 from Regino Mendoza with Ric Nangel missing 500 by a pin on 499. The others that scored were Fedelyn Bustinera 465, Hadi Pacheco 462, Jhoon Caisip 136-160 and Jun Pamintuan 141.
