RIYADH: Whenever October rolls around Dirab Ladies Group never fails to wear pink on the fairways in a show of support for the international breast cancer awareness month.

Last Wednesday the Ladies Pink Day Golf Tournament took place at the Dirab Golf & Country Club with the tandem of Faizia Shamim and Lin Ni winning the two-person Texas Scramble format on 89.

Roselyn Delpondevaux and Roberta Hobbs took second place on 92 with Cheryl Willamson and Susan Tessier third on 95.

Sile McIlroy won the longest drive award and Tessier the closest to the pin plum.

Dirab Ladies captain Denize Holding handed over prizes to the winners at the end of the 18-hole event sponsored by Optari.

This is the second monthly tournament of the new 2013-2014 season. The winners during the season-opening event on Sept. 25 were: Alpha Division — champion Mc Ilroy 78, runner-p Martina 79; Beta Division — champion Hobb 80, runner-up Delpondevaux 81; Omega Division — champion Shamim 80, runner-up Chris Buchner 90; Overall Best Net Claire Watts 74; longest drive Madele Burger, closest to pin Hobbs.
