Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers completed a 7-game sweep of the eliminations with victories over Ritz Carlton 60-57, Novotel 94-65 and sister team Four Points by Sheraton 90-81 during the sixth week actions in the 27th Annual Riyadh Inter-Hotels Basketball Tournament at InterContinental court here.

Al Faisaliah also enjoyed multiple wins, 84-70 over Riyadh Marriott and 91-72 over Kempinski and in all likelihood would join first qualifier Sheraton into the semifinal of the tournament.

Faisaliah tied Marriott at 4-2 and with both teams expected to hurdle their final assignments against Novotel and Kempinski Faisaliah stands to be the No. 2 semifinalist by virtue of winner-over-the-other rule and Marriott at No. 3.

Kempinski (3-2) which plays Ritz Carlton in its last game, InterCon (3-3) with a game against Four Points, and Ritz Carlton (3-3) all are mathematically in contention for the last semifinal berth.

Faisaliah played good defense in the final quarter as Riyadh Marriott started to lose steam with its main man Erick Dalangin totally checked and he missed important baskets. Faisalilah big man Carlo Hall delivered for his team to win this important game.

While Sheraton took some doing to dispatch Ritz Carlton it has no such problem against the all rookies Novotel Hotel. Later in the week Sheraton brought down sister team Four Points to score its seventh straight win which could have given the team a twice–to-beat privilege in a knockout format. Instead Sheraton still has to play three games in another round robin semifinals.

InterContinental Riyadh survived the challenge of coach Joevette Belnas’ Kempinski boys to keep its hopes alive for a semifinal berth.
