Week 3 in the Inter-Hotels Cricket Tournament witnessed another pair of exciting matches at the Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers grounds.

To kick off the day's proceedings, the host team Sheraton Riyadh, starring Syed Furqan Gillani, scored a stunning victory over Novotel Riyadh Al Anoud.

Novotel won the toss and elected to bat first, and was dominating from the early stages of the match. But with some tidy Sheraton bowling the Novotel top order batting collapsed one by one, then some resistance and sensible batting from Saleem 32 with 2 sixes off 16 balls and cameos from Alfan 14, Rizvi 13 and a quick fire from Ahmed 17 in 9 balls with one six took Novotel to a somewhat respectable score of 114 in 16 overs.

Chasing a achievable target of 115, Sheraton Riyadh started with a bang with some blistering hits and 50 runs from Sajjad Awan with 3 sixes and 5 fours not out, Syed Murtaza 21 and Aqeel Afzal 22 before he was bowled by Saleem of Novotel. Sheraton won by 9 wickets.

In the afternoon match, InterCcon’s skipper Sameer Bhaksee brought forward his team to a second thrilling victory against the vibrant and one of the strongest teams in the tournament, Sowri Rajan’s Ritz Carlton cricket team.

Ritz Carlton won the toss and opted to bat. The opener pair of Raiz and Reghunath Cheriyedath did not stay longer as Raiz was caught by Sameer with only 9 runs. Reghu stayed longer with 55 runs off 2 sixes and 5 fours. Ritz Carlton completed the 16 overs with 152 runs for 9 wickets. The InterCon bowlers did their best with Captain Sameer on 4 overs for 27 runs and 4 wickets while Alam Zaib 4 overs for 49 runs and 3 wickets.

Chasing an achievable target of 153, InterCon started with a bang.Mohamed Haneef put together 46 runs including 3 sixes and 3 fours. The exciting moments happened during the last ball of the 16 overs where the score was tied at 152 and bowler Mohan gave a wide that decided the win by 3 wickets for InterCon. Mohammed Taqeer the best bowler for Ritz Carlton had 3 wickets in 3 over and 19 runs only.
