The stage is set for the Inter-Commercial Division B semifinals with Sibuconians leading the final four teams in the 1st LBC-Liga Pinoy Basketball Tournament at Ahmad Khaki Sports Complex (Orca) basketball court on Tahlia Street here.

Sibuconians ended the eliminations at 7-1, the same record posted by Bacolod Kalawi, but nailed the No. 1 spot because of the winner over the other rule.

In their last game last Thursday Sibuconians overcame another hot shooting night by Barry Nader (23 points) to beat Red Sea Kings 65-60.

The week before Promptness Co. endured a 35-point game by Nader to win by 81-69 over RSK.

Veteran point guard Teddy Jamahali scored 18 points for Promptness while teammate Tantali tossed in 25 points to claim Best Player of the game honors.

Friday, Twitter-Marogong beat out Promptness for the third spot with an 86-80 triumph in their match. Best Player Vallejo scored 30 points at the helm of Marogong, while Boyce and Junaid added 21 and 15 points.

Tantali again enjoyed a big game for Promptness with 34 points while Jamahali made 17 points.

Marogong and Promptness finished tied at 6-2 in the eight-team division.

In the Inter-Commercial Division A, Jeddah Eagles kept their qualifying hopes alive, quelling a determined rally by King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital to score a 74-69 win. Best Player Abu Zeena, Bensouzo and Alih Kibsi shot 18, 16 and 15 points to lead Hassan Zenouddine’s Eagles squad.

Meantime, Jeddah Friends and SGS Nobel played back-to-back games against each other in Inter-Commercial A at the weekend.

In both games Jeddah Friends won, 86-79 on Thursday to end the first round and 97-76 on Friday to start the second round.

The leading scores for Jeddah Friends Thursday were Best Player Palo 17 points, Indal 13 and Kader 12 points. Ismael, Malik Ampuan and Dipatuan were the main men for Friends in the game Friday with 21, 17 and 14 points in that order.
