JEDDAH: Spectators had a feast from last week's actions in the SIFF Rabea Tea Champions League footbal tournament.

In C division, Blue Star Seniors lost valuable 3 points as they were held by newcomers Soccer Freakz.

Right in the 4th minute to start the game favorite Blue Star’s Jassir paced all the way through right touch line to give an accurate long pass to Mohammed Nawas who beautifully volleyed above the head of goalkeeper Nishad for a 1-0 lead.

Blue Star cannot maintain its dominance in second half as Freakz repeatedly raided its area. Then, from a good move initiated from middle, Soccer’s Shahid Salim’s shot to goal was brilliantly saved by Blues star keeper Adam Kabeer but then the ball slipped from his hand and Shahid didn’t waste time to place its on left edge of goal post 1-1.

After conceding goal Blue Star made number of counter attacks but could not defeat Soccer defense line. Jassir of Blue Star was man of the match and trophy was given by Jaleel Kannamangalam.

In B division match , visitors Falcon FC of Tuwwal attacked from beginning and in 6th minute they almost scored, but a goal line save by Jeddah FC’s Shuhaib Umar stopped movement in scoreboard.

In 14th minute, a wrong clearance own goal by Yassir of Falcons gave Jeddah FC an unexpected 1-0 lead. Jeddah FC got its best chance to increase lead the in 23rd minute when their midfielder Ajmal passed the ball to sprinting striker Ameer who brilliantly lobbed to Manaf Veeran whose powerful header defeated keeper but went just above cross bar. Jeddah FC’s speedy Ameer made a number of attempts but was unlucky. Ameer received man of the match trophy from C M Raheem.

In another B division match, new comer Rehab FC of Yanbu and AlAjool School Yas club battled to a goalless draw in an amazing fast match. Both teams had lot of attacks and counter attacks to the delight of spectators. In 13th minute Al Ajool School Yas club got its best chance. Winger Niyas paced from right side, crossed the ball to Sameer who `passed to Mohammed Ashraf. But Ashraf’s powerful shot went just above cross bar.

In 24th minute Ashraf again defeated Rehab FC’s defense and his bullet shot was brilliantly saved by Yanbu’s keeper Mohammed Shafi. Yanbu played better in second half with Mohammed Anees just missing an open net while Yas keeper was out of position. Rehab FC’s keeper Mohammed Shafi who made number of marvelous saves including a penalty from Kabeer bagged man of the match trophy prsented by K M Kodassery.
