Sky Freight Forwarders won the six-person team event to earn the lofty label as the outfit with the best bowlers while Randy Mata and Grace Siasoco claimed the men’s and ladies singles titles in the two-day FTBJ 2014 Kalayaan Cup bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

Sky Freight combined a winning four-game series total of 4,662 built around contributions from its sextet of Rene Santiago 816, Goying Salazar 871, Wilson Triguero 744, Rod Morales 757, Babes Tiongson 734 and Imelda Sayago 740.

In second place 42 pins back on 4,620 was Jeddah 500 which drew 763 from Dylan Ilagan, 683 from Pheps Neri, 772 fom Ally Bin 864 from Francis Guron 834 from Frank Afurong and 704 from Puri Parena.

The Paradise Brand of Igna Salgado, Nick Gozun, Majid Aslani, Rey Beltran, Marie Gumpal and Grace Funtilon took third place on 4,568.

Mata totaled 817 in four games on lines of 159, 178, 212, 268 to edge in front of Nanding Siasoco for the singles crown with Salgado taking third place. Siasoco tallied 815 on games of 179, 214, 168, 190 while Salgado had 813 (209, 190, 187, 211).

Grace won by two pins from Thess Grandia 792 to 790. Funtilon rounded out the top three in ladies singles on 768. Grace rolled scratch games of 168, 189,162, 173, Grandia returned 163, 148, 188 155 and Funtilon had 147, 146, 147, 184.

The trio event (two male, one female bowlers) that pulled in 22 teams had Zaldy Bacero, Alex Flora and Tess Marasigan comfortably winning first place from the team of Pancho Cuevas, Paolo Allego and Jeanette Cerbito. Bacero team totaled 2,353 to Cuevas side’s 2,325. Cris Villavelez, Gerry Mandanas and Lourdes Punzalan finished third position on 2,322.

Winning the men’s all events title was Majid Aslani on 2,474 total pinfalls. Bacero took the second position on 2,425 with Ally Bin third on 2,328.

To Cheryl Tibay went the ladies all events crown after she compiled 2,300. Cerbito was second on 2,288 and May Lourdes third on 2,141.

The organizing Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah announced the Ramadan Eid Goodwill Games with four teams from UFTBR, two from Yanbu and four from Taif will take place next month. The tentative schedule is July 25 and 26.

Western Union, Paradise Brand, Lutong Pinoy, PureFoods, Chip Delight, Magnolia, San Miguel at Sky Freight Forwarders sponsored the tournament that attracted 68 players.
