RIYADH: Sponsor team Almarai Co. and Donjie Mapalad emerged the Best Team and Best Bowler of the Week respectively during the second week of the Almarai-FBGR Sunday Bowling league 14th Conference at the Universal Bowling Center here

The 16-team league is sponsored by Almarai Company and organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).

Almarai mentored by Jun Daniel earned the second award of the competition by zeroing Golden Bullet of Jeff Nierva 4-0 on 22-5 points. Alex Armada led the team by scoring 887 points followed by Doy Del Moral 841, Fhel Ramos 768 while Daniel had 408 and league chairman Emerson Mitra 396. From the losing team, rookie bowler Gil Miranda surprisingly took charge on 732 with Jeff Sobreviga on 689, Ronald Eulin 652, Vic Barrazona 490 and Ian Choco 351.

In another encounter, Alsalam Strikers piloted by Bandar Al-Marshad defeated Minions II of Irene Pua 19-12 points. Susie Rivera led the Alsalam on 848 points and got a good help from Alfred Valencia 837, Rollie Cleofe 786 and Bandar Al-Marshad 780 points. |Despite the defeat Minions II did not go home empty-handed thanks to their lanky bowler Mapalad who bested everyone to become the Best Bowler of the Week Award. Mapalad drilled 942 points to pace teammates Dong Yamco 806, Pua 748 and Albert Abug 710.

FBGR Nurlac mentored by Rizal Dellosa beat newly-formed team Bankers of Rudy Flores 17-8. Omar Valdez was the top scorer for Nurlac on 845 followed by Rico Feria 807, Rizal Dellosa 758 and Jojo Paciano 737 points, while the losing team was led by Cef Chua on 806 and Loreto Desoloc 751. Edgar Bazarte added 561, Andy Santos 532 and Flores 359.

Meantime, SACO of Jim Dela Rosa upset first week leader Thales of Nelson De Vera 3-1 on 19-13 points. Leading scorer of the winning team was Stephen Solomon on 926 points followed by Dennis Durenz 823, Steve Perez 792 and Buddy Balisi 736. HRH MS led the losing team on 867, Ryan Inigo had 831 points, Cheng Lambo 576, Celis Viloria 571 in three games each played and Nelson De Vera made 387 in two games.

In other matches, Pin Crusher of Anas Hamid blanked defending champion Rotunda of Rey Bautista 4-0 (22-10 points0, Minions team of KC Enriquez edged King Pasyal of Ronald Bautista 19-16 in 2-2 match, Stingers piloted by Butch Mateo defeated Nadec Strokers of Lope Ramirez 3-1 (21-13, while Alinma Bank of Abdulrahman Ahmed walloped Final Touch of Ric Ventura 3-1 (19-10) .
