Subway rumbled to its second straight victory while Toyota and Jeddah Lions debuted with victories as action went full blast in the OFBL 6th Conference Friday Morning League at Timeout Sports Academy gymnasium on Television Street, Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Subway followed its opening 95-73 victory over Axal with a 91-62 rout of Westside in Non-Rated C Division.

Toyota played a superior second half after trailing at halftime by 2 points and went on to win by 9 points over Puzakals 76-67 in another C division match.

Dorado had an outstanding performance for Toyota, netting a team-high 16 points while almost single-handedly carrying his team and was adjudged Jollibee Best Player of the Game.

Arana scored 12 points in a hot third quarter that also saw Dorado and Llamado score 12 and 10 points for Toyota.

Ararao led the way for Axal with 24 points.

Jeddah Lions, second runner-up in the last tournament, set the pace early, posting a 23-15 advantage in the first period and further outscored K.A.A.U. in the next quarters to comfortably seal the game with an accumulated 19 points margin, 77-58.

Eusebio top-scored for Jeddah Lions with 18 points grabbed Jollibee Best Player honors .

Taguiam also had an exceptional game with 16 points, using his pace well and shooting with conviction. Salazar chipped in 10 points, rebounded well and defended effectively for the Lions. The losing team was headed by Cabrera with 12 points and Collette with 10 points.

Subway broke open a tight contest with a tremendous firepower in the fourth period as it its full complement of players were all involved in the offense and applied tough defense to finish the game pulling away.

Cabrera was named Jollibee Best Player of the Game as he spearheaded the Subway offense with 28 points. He got valuable contributions from Barakat who scored 15 points and Razon who had 14 points. The losing team had 24 points from Encabo , while Amparano added 12 points and Daud 8 points.

Reza Hygiene is the major sponsor of the tournament with Al Zugbi Sports as the official outfitter. Jollibee and City Max are co-sponsors. The Basketball Officials Group (BOG) of Jun Lansang handles the tournament officiating.

Meantime, Overseas Filipino Basketball League Commissioner Rocky Gil said all is set for the opening next Friday of the Evening Division with more than 40 teams in the fold. There are five championships at stake in the tournament.
