JEDDAH: RTJ Transient House immediately made an impact on its return to active status, setting a perfect score on the way to a Team of the Week and ladies Bowler of the Week double during the second session in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 5 bowling tournament at the Iceland Bowling Center.

RTJ Transient House, one of the founding teams when the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club was organized in July 2012 but lied low in recent seasons, reached the first perfect 36 of the tournament with a 20-0 shutout of D’ Luf’s Strikers on total pinfalls of 2,716 and rank points of 16.

And Malou Nidoy made it a perfect double when she rolled the high series of 564 in her division to become the Bowler of the Week.

With all 16 teams in action for the second week IBC was a beehive of activity and three other teams also shut out their opponents — Rotto Taurus against D’ Splitters, Zikato Strikers against Tribo Treskilion and Baghaffar Medical Supplies against Lucky Strikers-SGH.

Rotto ended up with the second highest total of 34 points after its total pinfalls of 2,654 got 14 rank points to go with the 20 match points. Zikato had 33, getting 14 rank points off 2,616 pinfalls while Baghaffar totaled 32 on the day with 12 rank points off 2,591 pinfalls.

Defending champion Cyclone sent first Team of the Week Rock n Roll crashing back to earth with a 16-4 victory in their match on total pinfalls of 2,711-2,537 and rank points of 15-8. Boosted by the second highest rank points, Cyclone wound up with a total of 31 on the day.

Elsewhere, Taurus Reinforced and Casadores GBI-TBBGI were among the decisive winners, respectively beating Terri Bowls 18-2 (2,546-2,421 9-5) and 11th hour entry Saudi Diyar-2 16-4 (2,567-2,334 11-4), while Pinbusters and Bangon Pilipinas drew 10-10 (2,551-2,479 10-7).

Tope Sayson of GBI-TBBGI was the men’s Bowler of the Week on 582 that included a new high game with handicap record of 237.

Pancho Cuevas and assistant team captain Joel Nidoy fired 607 and 517 to complement Malou at RTJ Transient House which is managed and captained by Rudy Jamon. Conrad Baltazar tossed in 493 with Rommel Agbayani sharing two games 178-150 and Anna de Guzman adding 127.

Winning decisively for the second straight week, Rotto drew 567 from Raul delos Reyes, 545 from team captain Olie Jacinto and 547 from Nestor Casaime. Hyeth Achai was the other player to go the distance on 419 while Epoy Santos tallied 204-150 and Ramon Fabro 150.

Zikato, another team to enjoy back-to-back weeks of good games, had the trio of Jerry Carredo, Arman Gamboa and skipper Toto Lim leading the way on 543, 543 and 537. Vangie Lim added 481, Gemma Zuniga 100-102 and Rudy Valenzuela made 198.

For Baghaffar, team captain Ed Labuac led from the front on 567 followed by Sip Lapena 565 and Alice Penus 506. With two games each were Obet Vedonia 131-131, Bakin Llanes 151-159 and Ester Jalata 144-137.
