Fifteen more teams out of the big field of 56 made their debuts during the third week of action with Sweet Bloomer in Inter-Company Group B becoming the first to cross the century mark in a 101-91 victory over Nesma in the the Microsoft Lumia & 36th FBA Basketball Tournament at the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel court.

The foreign-flavored Inter-Commercial Open Rated Division had the Lebanese Community Basketball Team cruising to a 77-53 victory over Syrian Avengers team in the first game for both teams Friday.

The lone Inter-Commercial Open Non-Rated Division game saw Vicky & Sam’s Pride beat Princeton 89-78, as Pascua scored a night-high 34 points with Montejo, Mañalac and Romeo adding 17, 11 and 8 points in that order.

Rainbow Milk rebounded from a previous week defeat to Junbarkads in the Inter-Company Group C by beating Jeddah United 72-59 in the fourth game Friday. Hallyn, Salud and Ballinan were the main scorers at Rainbow with 23, 17 and 10 points, while Sablan and Dorado added 9 and 8 points respectively. For Jeddah United, Issa tallied 21 points, Majed had 14 and Amir 13.

Hanco Maintenance, one in a long line of FBA loyalist teams, debuted with a 65-58 triumph over Default in an Inter-Company game Friday. Damec scored a game-high 20 points in charge of Hanco that also netted 13 point from Ventura, 9 from Veras and 7 from Rey.

Three games were played in Inter-Company D. Toyota (Forklift) Otex, one of four ALJ-Toyota teams entered in the tournament, whipped Huta 81-72 in the first game Thursday, McVities recovered from a defeat by JCF last week with a 79-61 triumph over Veolia Water in the second game Thursday while WTF (Wafu-Wafu Tropa Feeps) crushed Dar Jana 71-54 in the second game Friday.

Four players drilled double-digit scores at Otex, led by Sevilla on 22 points. Tayamin made 16, Diaz had 14 and Alociwa 10 points. Neri and Hijazi shared scoring honors at Huta on identical 14 points, while Ermita added 13 and Besina 11.

In crashing the win column, McVities drew 22 points from Gonzales, 20 from David and 17 from Acosta. Veolia had Rajaee and Roi both on 16 points.

The quartet of Rey, Cueto, Almea and Ylarde bannered Wafu-Wafu with 18, 15, 12 and 11 points.

In another Inter-Company C game Thursday, Jeddah Warriors walloped Legends (Jamjoom) 83-52. Payawan led Warriors with 14 points, Arciaga tossed in 12 while Jedzeus and Bonilla added 11 and 10 points.

Geniza shot 26 points, P. Reyes contributed 19 while Ballinan, Amparado and Junsay tossed in 13, 10 and 10 points in a balanced offense for Sweet Bloomer to put to naught Dula’s 30-point performance at Nesma.

Enjoying a fast start, the Lebanese had little trouble disposing off Avengers whose cause was not helped with the injury to Madmad Martinez. Forward Tareq Al-Ether scored 14 points at the vanguard of Lebanese with Ramzi making 13 points, Jad 10 points and Fadi 9 points.
