After almost eight months of grueling battle on the lanes the FBGR-Almarai Sunday Bowling League 13th Conference drew to a close with a fitting awards ceremony recently at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC) at the City Center here.

United Global was crowned team champion to lead the list of major awardees in the five-man team league event. Jeff Nierva captained the team to victory. The team members are Joselito Santillan, Erwin Atienza, Sam Dotingco, Arnel Balaoro, Clem Ojeda, Edwin Quano, Mario Cantina, Jeffrey Sobrebiga and Romy Repia.

Team Irene, mentored by Dhong Yamco, finished first runner-up while Carry Over of Lady Lulu Quejada fell short in its bid to retain the championship crown and settled for second runner-up.

In the team awards United Global won the high series with handicap and high series scratch accolades. FBGR Selection also took home two awards for team high game with handicap and team high game scratch.

The individual awards for high series with handicap and high scratch scratch went to Sam Dotingco and Stephen Solomon respectively. Jojo Miraflor claimed the awards for high game with handicap and high game scratch.

The Most Valuable Player of the tournament was Prince Mohammad bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Most Improved Player Don Ramon Chua. In the Battle of Elite Mike Ecalnir emerged champion, Ahmad Al-Qarquosh was 1st runner-up and Rasheed Rasheidan 2nd runner-Up.

Winning the Battle of Noble C & D was Irene Pua. Erwin Atienza wound up 1st runner-up and Dawood Sereno 2nd runner-up.

Almarai Co. PR Manager Abdullah Al-Sheri attended the awarding and handed out prizes to the winners.

The tournament segued into the 14th Conference.
