Purefoods Hotdog clinched its third Team of the Week award and along with No. 1 JP Gilas and third-ranked and defending champion Alliance in Motion Global became the waiting finalists at the end of eliminations in the FTBJ-ICBL 34th Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

No. 2 finalist Purefoods ended up tied with Lance & 3rdy on 39 points but was declared Team of the Week winner on total pinfalls countback 3,0656 to 2,987.

Alliance compiled 35 points in third place followed by JP Gilas 30, GM Pin Pals 28 and Sky Freight Forwarders 22 points. Lucky Strike had 17 points while Hidada and D’ Frontiers tied on 16 points. Pin Crushers and D’ Barkads brought up the rear on 8 points.

The remaining eight teams that failed to qualify outright for the stepladder stage play a knockout game with the highest four scorers to join Gilas, Purefoods and Alliance for the next round.

The 18th week individual award winners were Michelle Mata and Ric Reformado who rolled 611 and 683 to nail the Bowler of the Week award for ladies and men’s respectively.

After a slow start, Purefoods never looked back to win the last two games and overall output as Majid Aslani led the charge on 626. Marie Gumpal and Len-Len Berina along with Cesar Monares were the others to go the distance for Purefoods on 593, 586 and 574.

Jackpot winner Igna Salgado added 189-278 and Jojie Manalansan made 193 for Purefoods.

Besides Reformado Ding dela Rosa played well for Lance on 616 with Evelyn Santoc on 587 and Aisah Silabay on 563. June Estefano tallied 235-213 and Joey Calapatia 184.

Merlen Pamintuan on 546 was the other female bowler besides Michelle to complete three-game series for Alliance that netted 656 from Randy Mata, 583 from Bonnie Garcia. 204-153 from Jim Mandingiado and 169 from Cris Villavelez.

Over at Gilas Paolo Allego and Rey Beltran hit the high numbers on 643 and 591 with Lou Punzalan and Jeanette Cerbito, from the distaff side, on 549 and 522.
