JEDDAH: Kokan XI and Deccan Youth have booked their spot in the Super-16 round after the third week of the Jeddah Champions Trophy hard tennis cricket tournament organized by Azizia Deccan and sponsored by Ford Al-Jazirah Vehicles, under the co-sponsorship of SBL Trading, Powerbar & Empower Contracting.

With 30 league matches already played and 18 still to go, teams still have a fair chance of making the knockouts.

Meanwhile, host team Azizia Deccan started off their campaign on a winning note by defeating tournament co-sponsor Empower Contracting in a very closely contested match.

Sent in to bat under damp conditions, Azizia Deccan managed to post 102 runs from their allotted 15 overs. In reply, Empower Contracting started off their chase in solid fashion by putting on 43 runs for the first wicket before eventually loosing wickets in clusters to fall behind by 6 runs.
