JEDDAH: LeMall Alshaya was crowned the Inter-Company Bonafide Non-Rated Division champion in the 1st TSA (Television Sports Association) Inter-Company Basketball Tournament.
LeMall of coach Erwin Carpena brought down AIC of coach Jerry Lacanlale 84-67 in Game 2 of the best-of-three championship series to finish the TSA Evening Division tournament undefeated.
LeMall was very effective with its up tempo game that buried the taller AIC players in their last two games that saw LeMall’s MVP Ortiqueras have a field day from the perimeter. Also, the five backcourt players of LeMall each made a couple of threes.
In the other Evening Division game, Solid North beat Samaco in Game 1 to lead their own championship series. Solid North will be looking to close out Samaco in the second game Friday.
In the Friday Morning Division, Fuddruckers edged Reborn Team 83-75 in the first game. Nesma of Allan Pangan crushed Repapipz of Coach Azupardo 90-75.
In the final match of the Friday morning, Toyota Scorpion of coach Noel Sun won against the We Fly High Team 90-84.
This inaugural event of the TSA is set to conclude a few weeks but due to popular demand and early request of many teams, the 2nd Conference both for morning and evening is scheduled to start April 28 at the Saudi Champions Academy indoor court on Television Street on the outskirts of Jeddah.
There will be three categories group in the evening session — Inter-Company Bonafide Non-Rated, Mixed Barkadahan Non-Rated, and the 40 and above group.
The morning division will feature the Mixed Barkadahan Non Rated Division only (Group A & B). For details, interested parties may inquire to TSA Chairman Rocky Gil at 0542698619.
