Velocity Strikers earned their second Team of the Week award during the sixth session in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Velocity decisively beat American Garden 18-2 on total pinfalls of 2,671-2,591, ending the session on 26 points as it elbowed out D’ Luf’s Strikers at second place in the team standings.

D’ RJ Cardinals matched Velocity’s total win points on the day but the latter had the better total pinfalls. Cardinals tallied 2,577 against the bye team to Velocity’s 2,671.

Luf’s saw its hot streak grind to a halt courtesy of league leader Taurus which hammered out an emphatic 16-4 victory in their match on total pinfalls of 2,464-2,464 and identical rank points of 4.5.

Elsewhere, Cyclone Star completed a day of lopsided victories with an 18-2 rout of The Pinbusters on total pinfalls of 2,174-2,147 and rank points of 3-2.

The week’s individual award winners were Lexter Atienza of American Garden in the men’s division and Velocity’s Carms Lim in the distaff side.

Atienza, a beginning bowler, carded the high series of 597 to be the men’s Bowler of the Week with Lim shooting 570 for the ladies Bowler of the Week accolade.

Along with Carms the trio of Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo, Vic Gonzales and Jojo Esperanzate helped advance the Velocity’s cause with efforts of 544, 528 and 503. The husband-and-wife team of Toto and Vangie Lim added 155-169 and 150.

The Cardinals got the best out of a five-man team rotation of Conrad Baltazar 562, Richard Junio 523, Ed Cordova 508 and Kristhea Mae Busico 489.

Taurus, sitting pretty at the top even without a team award thus far, drew 508 and 504 from Hadi Pacheco and Ric Nangel. Juan Caisip tallied 487, Fedelyn Bustinera made 430 while Edwin Ronquillo had 156-169 and Khalid Carlos Bustinera 169.

For Cyclone Star, the scorers were Arman Gamboa 476, Bash Langa 472, Fatima Jintarat 394 and Usman de Guzman 111-119.
