Velocity Strikers got their campaign off to a perfect start with a Team of the Week award in the OFBC Friday Morning League Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Velocity Strikers shut out D’ Luf’s Strikers 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,750-2,509 and then got the first-place rank points of 8 on that 2,750 tally to become the first team to reach the first perfect score of 28 in the new tournament organized by Overseas Filipino Bowlers.

The Pinbusters were the second-best of the opening week on 26 points against the bye team. Along with their automatic 20 match points Pinbusters got 6 rank points for their total pinfalls of 2,730.

D’ RTJ’s Cardinals hammered out a 14-6 victory over Cyclone on total pinfalls of 2,578-2,508, and they ended up the session on 21 points thanks to their second-best rank points of 7.

In the other match, American Garden whipped Taurus 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,348-2,325. American Garden returned session points of 15 as its output was worth only rank points of 8.

In a fun-filled opening day free lunch was served courtesy of OFBC sponsor Star Markets through their Star Superstores Branch Manager Ishtiaq Elaji. Also, free mobile loads, caps & T-shirts were also given away to players with two consecutive strikes for ladies and a three-bagger for men.

Toto Lim of Velocity and RTJ’s Kristhea Mae Busico were the men’s and ladies Bowlers of the Week after shooting the high game series with handicap to beat of 598 and 551 respectively.

Vic Gonzales and Carms Lim shot 584 and 524 in support of Toto at Velocity, which also drew 165-144 from Jojo Esperanzae, 138-178 from Ryan Okol and 134-123 from Vangie Lim.

Bowling pressure-free Pinbusters had their team captain, Jayme Lugue, at the helm on 540 followed by Jhun Ejanda 528, Rico Parcon 525 and Mildred Florentino 505. Ogie Orig added 123-133 and Ysmael Padullon 139.

Besides Busico the others that carried RTJ were Richard Junio 574, Ed Cordova 567, Yeth Sichan Achai 461 and skipper Rudy Jamon 425.

Lexter Atienza was a few pins shy of 500 on 493 in leading the American Garden captained by Bob Stone who posted 483 that went with the 440 by Louis Pasia and 150-125 by Archie Alcantara.
