JEDDAH: Virgin Mobile had the singularly outstanding display to win Team of the Week honors during the sixth session in the the FTBJ-ICBL 37th Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.
At 3, 753 total pinfalls Virgin Mobile was head and shoulders above the rest of the pack, as it leapfrogged four places to fourth in the team standings.
Sagmit Dental Clinic, first runner-up to champion Ekis Reload in the last Conference, rolled 3, 694 pinfalls on the day. Though not impressive as Virgin Mobile the effort was enough to put Sagmit a notch higher at third spot in the standings.
JP Singco carded the third-best score of 3, 668 followed by league leader Pin Slashers on 3, 649. Ekis Reload, still to make a move, mustered 3, 630 pinfalls for fifth position on the day, with Sadafco on 3, 578 and Casadores on 3, 562.
The week’s honors had been shared all around with Pinky Acato of Hidada claiming the ladies Bowler of the Week award on 660 and Rom Cagampang of Slashers the same accolade for men on 722.
Mhon Laxamana and Elsie Fernandez had actually challenged for individual awards on 674 and 646 at the helm of Virgin, which also netted 634 from Jojie Manalansan, 618 from Philip Raymundo and 589 from Shirley Sagmit.
Evelyn Santoc led the way at Sagmit on 641 followed by Jun Estefano and Ric Reformado who shot matching rounds of 621s. Mohd. Sulaiman aded 614, Ester Santoc made 601 and Ding dela Rosa came through with 596.
JP 5 had Nezar Al Hamwi at the top of the scoring ladder on 648. Ghnet Cerbito and Paolo Allego returned matching 643s while Michelle Mata contributed 626, Randy Mata 579 and Rene Punzalan 529.
Rommel Agbayani and May Lourdes shot 625 and 623 respectively to back up Cagampang at Slashers. Daryl Loquias tosssed in 582 while Roger Daquioag had 537.
Ekis got a boost from Zaldy Bacero 694 and Geo Mangaliman 610, with Emil Payongaong on 599, Faisal Relativo 590, Malou Gime 588 and Alma Bacero 579.
