JEDDAH: Jude Vivero and Vangie Lim chased down Bowler of the Month titles in their divisions during the OFBC monthly tournament for October last Friday at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Class D bowler Vivero parlayed his rich handicap to easy victory, his first in the series, in the men’s division, shooting 474 in the two games final.

August winner Ric Nangel who like Vivero had 24-handicap per game didn’t have a chance against the inspired play of Vivero and settled for 1st runner-up on 396.

Vivero carded scratch games of 202-224 to Nangel’s 133-215.

Bowler of the Month for May Regino Mendoza tallied 367 to finish 2nd runner-up while Rico Bulalayao rounded out the podium winners at 3rd runner-up on 360 in the event sponsored by Zikato Construction through Operations Manager Cesar Alberto Zuniga.

The ladies battle was a close one with no more than five pins separating the first four winners.

Vangie, newly arrived from her vacation in the Philippines, edged out Fatima Jintarat to taste her first Bowler of the Month title. Vangie came through with a two-game series of 339 to Jintarat’s 336.

Five pins further back at 2nd runner-up was Gemma Zuniga who totaled 331 with Marlyn Mangunay on 328 to claim 3rd runner-up position.

Winners in both divisions received cash prizes in the series that culminates in the Bowler of the Year finals in December.
