RIYADH: WWE fans in the Kingdom are in for a treat this weekend as the sports entertainment conglomerate is back in Riyadh for a two-day tour at the Green Hall Auditorium.

This marks the promotion's third tour in Saudi Arabia as its last tour was in Jeddah at King Abdullah Sports City Sports Hall (Al Jawhara Stadium) in 2015 and its first tour was held back in 2014 in Riyadh at the very same venue.

Prior to the event Arab News was at the WWE press conference and interviewed some of the superstars touring Riyadh. The tag team of WWE veteran former Intercontinental, United States and tag team champion Zack Ryder and former American football defensive lineman turned WWE superstar Mojo Rawley collectively known as the Hype Bros are excited to be here for the first time as a team in the Kingdom. Mojo, who is of Arab descent, is also excited to meet his uncle, aunt and cousins — who live in Riyadh — for the first time after the event.

“My family was in the UN and lived here for a while, they always talked so highly of Riyadh and Saudi Arabia,” said Rawley. “It’s kind of cool that after hearing all these stories as a kid here I am, and coming to Saudi as a WWE superstar is even better,” added Rawley.

Mojo concluded by saying that the Hype Bros have a symbiotic relationship and they feed off the fans' energy and the fans feed off their energy and everyone has a great time and it amplifies the event to the next level.

Zack Ryder told Arab News that he hopes that the Saudi fans are as excited to see them as they are to perform to the fans. “I am excited to come out of the curtains and to see the fans and perform a Hype Ryder in front of Saudi fans," said Ryder.

The Hype Bros moved a step closer to their aspirations to become tag team champion after defeating the Ascension consisting of WWE superstars Konnor and Viktor.

On the first day of WWE Live Riyadh Thursday current WWE Intercontinental champion and former world heavyweight champion Dolph Ziggler retained his title against former champion The Miz in the opening bout which had the fans in standing ovation and cheering the Intercontinental champion after he pinned his opponent for the win. The rest of the superstars will perform on the last day of the event Friday.
