Riyadh Cricket Association XI routed Qassim XI by 141 runs during their Inter-City cricket tour matches against Al-Qassim, sponsored by Alhamrani FUCHS.
The highlight of the match was Sami Arshad’s 120 in a score of 334 for 5 from their allotted 30 over after they batted first. Others who impressed were Nasir Abbasi (67), Rizwan Manzoor (55) Kamran Hadi (28) and Muzaffar Majeed (23).
Faisal picked up 2 wickets for the bowling side.
Chasing a huge target, Al Qassim XI were bundled out for 193 off 26.2 overs.
Shamas was the highest scorer with 30. Other notable contributors included Imran and Rizwan who scored 27 and 22 runs respectively.
For RCA, Javed took 3 wickets while Syed Usman got 2. Man of the Match: Sami Arshad.
In the second match, the host put up a much better display with the bowlers doing a good job, went down fighting to RCA Patron XI by 22 runs.
Batting first RCA Patron XI were all out for 233 as the rival bowlers restricted the opposition to moderate total. Abdul Wahid top-scored with 95 runs. Amin Bakhty made 30 and Waqas 26.
Al Qassim XI bowlers bowled excellently and restricted the opposition to a reasonable total. Imran and Mudassir got 2 wickets each for Al Qassim.
However in their frantic chase, Al Qassim lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 211. Asad played brilliantly and scored 53. Umar made 21 and Nouman 19. For RCA, Saleem bowled a devastating spell of fast bowling and took 4 wickets. Abdul Wahid took 3 while Sajid Khan got 2. Man of the Match: Abdul Wahid.
In the last match, RCA President XI’s got the better of Al Qassim by 8 wickets. Al Qassim batted first and were all out for 163. Hassan scored 33, Khawar 30 and Arab 22. Abdul Salam was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets. Mansoor backed him with 2.
RCA President XI reached their target in 17.2 overs, thanks to knocks by Salman Butt (67) and Omar Zafar (66).
A prize distribution ceremony was held and awards were presented to the outstanding players.
RCA have approved the request of Al Qassim Cricket Board for affiliation with RCA as a Zone. RCA has four affiliated zones under the patronage of Abdulaziz bin Nasser (Al Kharj Zone, Riyadh Zone, Huraymala Zone and Al Qassim Zone). RCA CEO, Nadeem Babar said that RCA will provide full support to Al Qassim Zone to promote the game in the region.
He also suggested that all non-affiliated cricket associations in Saudi Arabia should get affiliated with the affiliated Cricket associations of their region as a zone. He said that this will give more opportunities to the players and will also strengthen the Saudi Cricket Center.
