The latest treatment methods for spinal surgery will be under the spotlight at the International Spine Update 2012 Symposium and Workshop.
The neuroscience center at King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam (KFSH-D) and the University of Dammam are organizing the event on Dec. 4-6.
Dr. Hussam Al-Habib, chairman of the conference’s organizing committee and spine surgery and neurosurgery consultant physician at KFSH-D said the symposium would discuss surgery methods for complicated diseases. These include spinal deformation in children and adults, spinal tumors, neuro/ortho spinal surgery, spinal oncology, and other surgical procedures through small wounds.
More than forty consultants in this field from the United States, Europe, the Middle East and all regions of the Kingdom, will participate in the discussions. Consultants in oncology, radiation therapy and nerve radiation will also attend.
Large companies, specialized in the spinal surgery field will show the latest devices used in complex spine surgeries. The third day of the symposium will include training sessions about the latest spinal surgical procedures at the anatomy laboratory of the University of Dammam.
