Tadawul slips into red territory

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) fell to 7,087.83 points yesterday, showing a further reduction of 27.36 points or 0.38 percent for the entire day. The index slipped into red territory earlier yesterday and plunged to a maximum of 36.4 points during the day.
Among market cap indices only Micro cap was able to close a little higher.
Only six out of Tadawul's 15 sectors witnessed a positive change, accumulating nearly 77 points. Remaining nine sectors closed in the downward territory, trimming 225 points for the day. Transport sector remained key gainer for the second consecutive day, advancing 0.4 percent further. On the other hand, Telecommunication & Information Technology sector showed the worst performance, declining by 1.54 percent to close at 2,241.02.
Top ten heavy weights closed lower from previous day's levels, with Saudi Telecom dipping by 3.29 percent, Maaden 1.74 percent and Kingdom Holding 1.48 percent. However, Saudi Electricity Company ended without any change.
Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 69 to 53 and the prices of 34 companies remained unchanged.
Insurance stocks topped the gainer and loser charts at Tadawul. Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance Company outperformed among all Saudi equities, reflecting an increment of SR2.5 or 5.0 percent to SR52.5. The biggest loser of the day was Amana Cooperative Insurance (down 9.81 percent).
Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate and Dallah Healthcare Holding Company continued to dominate the trading activity at Tadawul. Dar Al-Arkan liquidated more than 24.2 million shares, capturing 12.9 percent of the overall market volume. Trading value was led by Dallah which pumped SR1.3 billion more to close at SR90.5.
