We were shocked to know that a 20-year-old man, carrying two handguns killed his mother at home and then opened fire inside the elementary school massacring 26 people, including 20 young children, as youngsters cowered in their classrooms and trembled helplessly to the sound of gunfire reverberating through the building in the US.
The rampage in the northeastern state of Connecticut in the United States was very unfortunate and sorrowful. It was heart wrenching. The innocent children were among the youngest victims of a mass shooting in recent history.
It was a tragic scene to see the frightened students who were rushed from the building by police were told to close their eyes. Children some crying, others looking frightened were escorted through a parking lot in a line, hands on each other’s shoulders. it is really so heartbreaking that even the US President Barack Obama could not control his tears after hearing the news of this very tragic incident.
