TJ Ferrer, Raymond Gile and Allan Eve enjoyed solid performances to lead their respective teams, Wardeh, Aziziah and Roma, to victories during the second week of action in the Siglakas International Riyadh South District Unity Cup Basketball Tournament 2012 at the Dunes Compound Filipino Community basketball court in Olaya Thalateen area here.
Coached by Arson Pamintuan, Wardeh recorded their first win, 78-67 over Al-Kharj of Joey Gamboa.
Featuring young and strong cagers led by power forward TJ Ferrer (33 big points), Zaldy Caranto, Allan Lauron, Richie Mendiola and Michael Domingo Wardeh closed the first period ahead at 23-17.
Al-Kharj veteran cager Pepito Dela Vega, Norlito Aniag and Marnie Singian managed to reverse the momentum in their favor and conclude the second quarter up by 36-35.
But that was all they could do as determined Wardeh pulled awway in third canto, 62-53, and never looked back.
2010 season champions Aziziah prevailed over rookie team Farazdaq of coach Benjamin Mendoza, 69-52.
The tandem of Raymond Gile and 2010 season MVP Edison Bien in teamwork with Angel Bautista, Arnold Tanura and Arlie Panes dealt a body blow on Farazdaq counterparts to control the first three quarters with 25-6, 35-20 and 60-34 scores.
Aziziah coach Willy Abdon made sure that proper blending was applied and no chance was given to Farazdaq to come back ending the game with 17 points advantage. Carlor Lim and Rene Katingub top-scored for the losing team.
Defending champion Roma of Joey Pasimo cruised past Artec of coach Jonathan Nevado 65-42. Roma led by the combo of Allan Eve, Rey Sarga, Erick Manayun, Allan Balbacal and Joel Sarino led all the way.
