Civil Defense teams in Jeddah rescued 16 women from a fire that broke out at a gym club consisting of four floors, a local newspaper reported.
It said the cause of the fire was an electric short circuit in the steam bath room.
Spokesman of Civil Defense in Makkah province Brig. Saeed Sarhan Al-Ghamdi explained that four vehicles of the department swiftly proceeded to the location on receiving the report of the fire, along with two vehicles equipped with ladders as well as the support of the Red Crescent and police patrols.
All teams worked their way to evacuate the building that was filled with smoke.
Al-Ghamdi said that investigation teams had started immediately inspecting the location to detect the cause of the fire. He said there were no causalities.
